g TENSOR ANISOTROPY AND ELECTRON-NUCLEUS DIPOLE-DIPOLE INTERACTION IN THE Cu (II) - (L-His)2 COMPLEX IN SOLUTION

چکیده
Cu(II) complexes with low molecular weight ligands have been suggested to play relevant roles in the biochemistry of copper. Among them the Cu(lI)(L-His)2 species has been recognized as the most abundant in biolo gical fluids. However the binding features of the two L-His molecules have not been yet defined; histamine*. like (one amino nitrogen plus one imidazole nitrogen) and/or glycinelike (one amino nitrogen plus one carboxyl oxygen) binding modes have been alternatively suggested. Different rapidly interchanging species can be present as well. In this report we have combined NMR relaxation rate measurements and ESR lineshape analysis with the aim of delineating the structural and motional features of the title complex in solution.

Anisotropic magnetic interactions in the primary radical ion-pair of photosynthetic reaction centers.
The quantum yield of triplets formed by ion-pair recombination in quinone-depleted photosynthetic reaction centers is found to depend on their orientation in a magnetic field. This new effect is expected to be a general property of radical pair reactions in the solid state. For 0 < H < 1,000 G, the quantum yield anisotropy is caused by anisotropic electron dipole-electron dipole or nuclear hype...
متن کاملDetermination of the antisymmetric part of the chemical shift anisotropy tensor via spin relaxation in nuclear magnetic resonance.
Relaxation processes induced by the antisymmetric part of the chemical shift anisotropy tensor (henceforth called anti-CSA) are usually neglected in NMR relaxation studies. It is shown here that anti-CSA components contribute to longitudinal relaxation rates of the indole (15)N nucleus in tryptophan in solution at different magnetic fields and temperatures. To determine the parameters of severa...
متن کاملThe 2-10 keV XRB dipole and its cosmological implications
The hard X-ray (> 2 keV) emission of the local and distant Universe as observed with the HEAO1-A2 experiment is reconsidered in the context of large scale cosmic structure. Using all-sky X-ray samples of AGN and galaxy clusters we remove the dominant local X-ray flux from within a redshift of ∼ 0.02. We evaluate the dipolar and higher order harmonic structure in 4 X-ray colours. The estimated d...
متن کاملCOLLISION-INDUCED LIGHT SCATTERING FROM LIQUID Ccl4 AND C6H17*
Collision-induced light scattering (US) is a newlyidentified phenomenon which has increased the scope of the information obtainable about dense media by scattering methods [l-4]. While free, optically isotropic atoms or molecules do not depolarize light, an anisotropy can be induced in the total polarizability of a system of interacting atoms which produces a broad depolarized wing centred abou...
متن کاملAn Atomic Linear Stark Shift Violating P but Not T Arising from the Electroweak Nuclear Anapole Moment
We propose a direct method of detection of the nuclear anapole moment. It is based on the existence of a linear Stark shift for alkali atoms in their ground state perturbed by a quadrupolar interaction of uniaxial symmetry around a direction n̂ and a magnetic field. This shift is characterized by the T-even pseudoscalar (n̂ · ~ B)(n̂ ∧ ~ E · ~ B)/B2. It involves on the one hand the anisotropy of t...
